What We Do
Studio KANTA is a creative studio based in France and the U.S., working at the intersection of art, media, and social impact. Founded by Aneeta Mitha and Julie Ludwig, we collaborate with artists, cultural institutions, and socially engaged nonprofits to help you communicate across borders and engage audiences through thoughtful, visually powerful storytelling.
Studio KANTA approaches every project as an opportunity to merge aesthetics with purpose.
WHO WE ARE
-
Visual Communications
Aneeta channels her decade of experience across photography, design, and digital strategy to transform client ideas into powerful stories that captivate and move audiences. From producing photo and video projects exploring climate change, queer resilience, and global liberation movements from Palestine to Standing Rock, she translates pressing issues into visually engaging narratives that build nuance, empathy, and change. Her work has been exhibited at Flux Factory, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and screened at film festivals across Europe and the U.S. In her role as the Public Programs & Digital Strategy Manager at the arts nonprofit First Exposures, she led citywide public arts programming, designed visual communications for emerging and established artists, and curated photography exhibitions for institutions such as the SF Symphony, the de Young Museum, and the Getty.
Whether it’s designing visual communications for social media and exhibitions or conceptualizing and executing multimedia production, Aneeta delivers work to turn heads and hearts.

Video Production + Post
Julie harnesses her career as a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and cultural worker to bridge visual storytelling and social engagement for her clients. As a filmmaker and Program Director at Paper Tiger Television, a historic video art collective in New York, she produced videos to amplify grassroots struggles from workers rights to climate change, prioritizing collaboration in her filmmaking process. Her films have been screened at MIT List Visual Arts Center, Queens Museum, and film festivals across Europe and the U.S. More recently as the Senior Manager of Distribution at Frameline, the world's largest LGBTQ+ film festival, she championed independent filmmakers and underrepresented voices, developing distribution strategies and promotional materials for artists and institutions including Marlon Riggs, Jenni Olson, Sam Feder, MoMA, Mucem, and the UCLA Film & Television Archive.
Julie brings a filmmaker’s eye and a deep understanding of how films find their audiences to help clients develop, produce, and share work that reflects the substance of their ideas.
Origin Story
Born out of KANTA Collaborative, the co-founders’ artistic partnership founded in 2017, Studio KANTA is an evolution from a collective art practice into a creative services model. KANTA Collaborative’s work explores issues of climate change, migration, and systemic inequity through photography, film, and socially engaged art.
Studio KANTA extends that mission— where artistry & strategy intersect to produce work that is both aesthetically impactful and socially meaningful.
The name KANTA (کانٹا) is derived from Urdu, meaning both the needle on a gauge and the thorn of a flower. It symbolizes our dual commitment to precision and beauty — to creating work that is incisive, responsive, and of its time. This ethos guides how we approach storytelling: intentional and attuned to the social and ecological contexts that shape our world.
